Miniature Spotlight: Finally my Reaper Bones Kickstarter Miniatures arrived!

A whole year has gone by since the Reaper Kickstarter launched and we are (of course) way past the estimated delivery time (which was March) but they finally arrived:

After checking the lot (which took hours) it seems everything is complete with two minor exception: one miniature and a small ornament for one of the giants are missing. I will send a mail to Reaper so that they can correct these minor errors.

My first impressions leaves me quite happy with all the larger miniatures since they seem to be perfect for the new casting material. There seems to be some issues with a few of the smaller miniatures (bending, mold lines etc) but I want to take a closer look and start painting a few of them before I will make a statement about their quality. All in all this seems to have been a great Kickstarter project to participate in. :)

Gaming News: The Reaper Kickstarter - New Sculpts

A "little" sneak peek from Reaper to show us awesome and in some cases even mind-blowing new sculpts of their new Bones miniatures line. I'm so happy! All of these are part of the package that awaits me in March'13 when my miniatures from the Reaper Kickstarter get delivered (YAY!!!):

The Happy Spender: Kingdom Death Kickstarter

Kingdom Death started its Kickstarter campaign and reached 200% of its 35.000$ goal in not even half a day. And after seeing the really nice cooperative board game set with all its dark and epic elements I must say: I'm hooked.

Not only are the miniatures beautifully sculpted (in case of the monsters beautifully creepy), the game seems to be really fun too.

Since we are already close to break 100K and there are 45 days left to go it will be quite interesting to see where this will go in the end. Two stretch goals and one very nice optional miniature is not bad for not even 12 hours into the campaign. This will be interesting. :)

The Happy Spender: The Reaper Kickstarter - Final Report

So awesome!

Man, that was awesome. Reapers Kickstarter just ended and I'm really happy about the result. It was the third highest grossing Kickstarter campaign ever, earning Reaper 3.42 million dollars. On the last day the Kickstarter servers went down a couple of times, traffic was just to high.

The final amount of my pledge was 273$. This gets me 272 miniatures. Two hundert seventy two miniatures. It gets me all of this:

 

 

 

My 273$ pledge means that I pay an average of 1$ per miniature. That inludes the over 8 inches tall C'thulhu! :D
Including custom duties this will cost me 261,71€ which brings me to an average of 0,96€ per miniature. YAY!

Gamergrrrl also couldn't resist this deal and got herself a vampire pledge and a few optional miniatures. Now all we have to do is wait for the shipment of the miniatures which will be in March '13. I'm guessing we will have them in our hands at the end of March or early April. All we have to do is wait and that is going to be a piece of cake. I think.

The Happy Spender: The Reaper Kickstarter - Update

Oh yeah! At the time I joined Reapers Kickstarter Campaign last Sunday my pledge of 205$ got me 164 miniatures. Now, not even 36 hours later, I already get 25 (twenty five!) additional miniatures for my pledge without any additional costs:

Of course I could not resist and also bought additional miniatures (again) from the optional section like these buddies:

And some other stuff as well. With all the options my pledge is now at 260$. This gets me a total of 215 miniatures at this point.:)

That's 1,21$ (0,97€) per miniature. And with 4 days left to go I think we will reach at least two additional stretch goals (if not way more). So there will definitely be more miniatures, everything between 10 and 30 is possible. Exciting! :)

The Happy Spender: The Reaper Kickstarter

I'm a big fan of Kickstarter. Kickstarter is a crowd funding website for creative projects. I've seen great projects get realized with the help of it. Projects that would very likely not exists today without this website. Now Reaper Miniatures started a Kickstarter for their new Bones line. I have a special connection to Reaper (as maybe many of you) not only because they produce awesome miniatures that are perfect for D&D gaming but because back in the day when I started my first D&D game as a GM I almost solely bought Reaper minis as representation for monsters and characters. I still buy Reaper minis from time to time (because they are still awesome) but since there are so many great companies out there today that satisfy my gaming needs it has become way less than in the beginning so the balance pan might just be even right about now regarding how many miniatures from other companies I have.

At least it was 5 minutes ago before I pledged a vampire level and extras for the Reaper Kickstarter.
A vampire level means that I've pledged 205$ (including shipping) to get me all of this:

How many miniatures I get at this point? 164. Let's read that out loud: one hundred and sixty four miniatures! :D That's 1,25$ (1,01€) per miniature. Now if I add the German import taxes this will cost me something around 1,50$ (1,22€) per miniature. Well done, Reaper. Well done.

And since Reaper adds even more miniatures to the vampire level (without any additional costs!) when a stretch goal is reached (the current on is $930.000) this is not the final number of miniatures I will get when they ship them in March 2013. I will get even more. This is exciting. :)
